I was listening to an interview today with Greg McKeown, best known for his book Essentialism. He talked about the idea of doing a quarterly retreat with yourself to take stock of your priorities. Writing these year in reviews feels a bit like that. Minus the retreat part.
I joked to Dana that if I could disappear to a mountainside for a couple of days, this would be easy. That’s just not how life works. So fitting this in isn’t always simple and it definitely takes time. I’ll probably simplify things next year. We’ll see. Either way, I enjoy the practice.
